Online Lecture: “Conflict-Free Authorship
The KPI Library invites researchers from Igor Sikorsky KPI and anyone interested to join the online lecture “Conflict-Free Authorship,” which will take place as part of the open lecture series “Academic Integrity: Rules of the Game or a Matter of Honor.”
The issue of authorship in scientific publications often leads to misunderstandings and conflicts. Who has the right to be a co-author? How can each researcher’s contribution be fairly assessed? And how can disputes be avoided even before the article is submitted?
Key aspects:
- who can be considered an author of a scientific publication;
- what international criteria exist for determining authorship;
- what roles and contributions qualify for co-authorship;
- how authorship differs from acknowledgments;
- how to avoid “honorary” and “ghost” authorship;
- how to properly agree on the order of authors in an article;
- what practices help prevent conflicts within a team.
Speaker: Sofia Zherebchuk, Chief Librarian and Coordinator of the Research Data Management Department at the KPI Library.
All registered participants will receive a link via email.
Participation in the webinar is free of charge. No certificate will be issued.
