{"id":7253,"date":"2023-10-05T21:01:49","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T18:01:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.library.kpi.ua\/?page_id=7253"},"modified":"2026-01-05T10:08:37","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T08:08:37","slug":"open-science","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.library.kpi.ua\/en\/open-science\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Science is an approach to scientific and technical activities that provides access to research infrastructure, scientific results and scientific and technical information with the possibility of their reuse, exchange and dissemination through information and communication technologies in order to accelerate scientific, technological and social development, deepen cooperation between scientists, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open science is a political priority for the European Commission (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu\/strategy\/strategy-2020-2024\/our-digital-future\/open-science_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EU&#8217;s open science policy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and a standard method of work within its research and innovation funding programmes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The international framework for open science policy and practice is provided by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unesco.org\/en\/open-science\/about?hub=686\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science<\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unesco.org\/en\/open-science\/about?hub=686\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eua.eu\/issues\/21:open-science.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The European University Association<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> actively supports universities in the transition to open science. The Association identifies three key areas of open science:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">universal and permanent open access to scientific results in a fair ecosystem of scientific publications<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">research data available in accordance with FAIR principles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">institutional approaches to research evaluation (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/eua.eu\/resources\/publications\/1003:the-eua-open-science-agenda-2025.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EUA Open Science Agenda 2025<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The formation of open science values is an important step towards the establishment of European values and standards in the Ukrainian academic environment.
