Sanitation Day

Dear friends,

July 25 is a cleaning day at the KPI Library.

On this day, the book lending desk, reading rooms, and CLUST SPACE educational space will not be available to users.

The library halls will be available for independent work. And, of course, in the event of an air raid alarm, the CLUST SPACE educational space will serve as a shelter around the clock.

Thank you for your understanding!

Top authors at KPI according to SciVal data: who shapes the university’s scientific image?

A university is, first and foremost, wonderful people who create new knowledge. According to Scopus, among the most productive scientists at Igor Sikorsky KPI over the past 5 years are researchers whose names are well known in the international academic community:

Viktoria Vorobyova – 92 publications, h-index 28
Natalia Kussul – 64 publications, h-index 36
Stepan Piltyay – 62 publications, h-index 29
Larysa Hlob – 61 publications, h-index 10
Andriy Shelestov – 59 publications, h-index 32

and many other leading researchers who strengthen the scientific authority of KPI every year.

The h-index should be interpreted with caution: it does not take into account differences between fields, years of career start, or the size of co-author teams. But in combination with other indicators, it provides a valuable benchmark – it shows the consistency of cited results in a scientist’s portfolio.

Want to find out your h-index, how your profile is formed in Scopus and Web of Science, how to update your data, or see your position in our university’s publication analytics? Contact the KPI Library – we will help you work with your scientometric profile correctly and effectively.

KPI + business = amazing FWCI 1.47

According to SciVal, in 2019–2024, only 0.9% of publications by Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute were created in collaboration with businesses. However, these joint studies have an incredibly high scientometric impact indicator – FWCI 1.47, meaning they are cited almost one and a half times more often than the global average in their fields.

Why is it important to develop corporate cooperation?

  • Research has practical applications and demand in the real economy
  • Expanding network of contacts, access to new projects and funding
  • Articles with corporate partners are often published in the most influential journals
  • The influence of both the authors themselves and the university as a whole is growing.

What is FWCI?

Field-Weighted Citation Impact shows how often a publication is cited compared to the average in its field. FWCI > 1 is always a positive signal for grantors, partners, and rankings.

Want to expand your cooperation with companies but don’t know where to start? Contact the KPI Library – we will help you find examples of successful partnerships, select promising journals, and showcase your scientific achievements there.
