KPI + business = amazing FWCI 1.47
According to SciVal, in 2019–2024, only 0.9% of publications by Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute were created in collaboration with businesses. However, these joint studies have an incredibly high scientometric impact indicator – FWCI 1.47, meaning they are cited almost one and a half times more often than the global average in their fields.
Why is it important to develop corporate cooperation?
- Research has practical applications and demand in the real economy
- Expanding network of contacts, access to new projects and funding
- Articles with corporate partners are often published in the most influential journals
- The influence of both the authors themselves and the university as a whole is growing.
What is FWCI?
Field-Weighted Citation Impact shows how often a publication is cited compared to the average in its field. FWCI > 1 is always a positive signal for grantors, partners, and rankings.
