Library services in the absence of electricity

If there is no electricity in the library, you can:

•  take/return a book in the reading room or at the book issuing point (2nd floor);
• physically receive a consultation at the Education and Research Support Center (4th floor);
• physically address questions to the Help Desk (1st floor);
• work on your gadget. Please note: Wi-Fi does not work if there is no power supply;
• to communicate and rest. By the way, on the 3rd floor you can play table football (get a ball for the game from Help).

In the absence of electricity in the Library, our electronic resources – catalog, e-archive and website are unavailable. No new users are registered and no newsletters are signed.

There may be delays in providing information and consultations online (by e-mail, messengers) and by phone; compiling lists of literature and providing other services related to work on the Internet. Please understand this.

Access to the ACM Digital Library

KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi received access to the full-text archive of articles published by ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) within the scope of the project of access to licensed resources of the International Foundation EIFL.

The ACM Digital Library contains publications from more than 70 journals, proceedings of 200 annual conferences, newsletters, and more. List of available ACM publishing serials.

Terms of access:

• ACM Digital Library resources are available on KPI’s local network
• To set up remote access, you need to create an account on the platform on the university’s local network.

The project also provides for the conditions for publishing articles in open access journals of the ACM publishing house for authors from countries participating in the EIFL project – they do not pay article processing fees (APC) when published in open access in one of more than 70 ACM journals and conference proceedings.

Due to the current situation, the Library provides services remotely.

Access to library resources and online services may be interrupted due to network damage.

Web of Science webinars in October

In October 2022, the Clarivate organization will hold 3 webinars dedicated to various aspects of working with the Web of Science scientific literature platform:

• October 6 – «Fundamentals of scientometrics»;
• October 13 – «Authors and citations»;
• October 27 – «Research Smarter: Increasing your scientific contribution to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals».

We invite you to celebrate the All-Ukrainian Library Day!

Friends! On September 30, we invite the KPI community, colleagues, partners and users to join the celebration of the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries! In the program:

• 2:00 p.m. – Bibliotalk «Biblioteka Nezlamna» – we will talk about how the KPI Library has been living since February 24;
• 16:00 – Discussion «Synergy of orientations: what to do with libraries after the war?» – we invited Good library as a guest, and together with speakers – cultural and public figures, bloggers and librarians, we will talk about the future of libraries;
• 18:00 – «Book promotion» is our already traditional event, where we talk about books that help us feel better – this time not online, but physically, in the library. Don’t forget to register.
