Data steward

All registered users of the Library can receive comprehensive information support for the process of research data management. We provide consultations and organize training events on various aspects of research data management.

  • The service is free of charge and available online and remotely.

HOW TO USE IT

To get an individual consultation or order training, please contact a research data management specialist in a way convenient for you:

  • in person: in the library (1st floor, room 1.5);
  • by e-mail: data.library.kpi@gmail.com;
  • or book a consultation/educational event using Zoom or live.

TOPICS FOR CONSULTATION/TRAINING OF RESEARCHERS

Planning of the DMP:

  • advising on the creation of a Data Management Plan (DMP);
  • assistance in meeting the requirements of grantors for research data management;
  • recommendations on organizing file structure, naming and version control of files.

Data collection and processing:

  • advice on data formats, structure, and best practices for documenting data;
  • assistance with metadata formatting in accordance with international standards.

Data storage and protection

  • advising on the safe storage of data during the active research phase;
  • assistance in developing a backup strategy and effective version control;
  • recommendations on confidentiality, anonymization, and protection of sensitive data within a particular project.

Data publication and sharing

  • advising on data licensing;
  • advising on digital identifiers (DOI, ORCID, ROR);
  • assistance in choosing a sectoral or universal repository and in the process of uploading data;
  • assistance in compliance with FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable);
  • recommendations for ensuring access to and reuse of data.
