This March marks the 131st anniversary of the birth of Maksym Tadeyovych Rylsky.
We are used to seeing him in the pages of textbooks—as a classic of Ukrainian literature, a poet who knew how to combine “the beautiful and the useful,” and a talented translator of world classics. But this time, we have a rare opportunity to take a closer look at Rylsky—in a human and warm light.
We invite you to the event “Maksym Rylsky’s Universities” with writer, public figure, and Honored Journalist of Ukraine Maksym Georgiyovych Rylsky—the poet’s grandson—who will share family memories and his own perspective on his grandfather.
This is an opportunity to hear stories in which the classic of Ukrainian poetry emerges as a living person—with his own habits, thoughts, and daily joys.
