Memorandum between the State Language Standards Commission and the Ukrainian Library Association

The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the President of the Ukrainian Library Association, the Director of the KPI Library Oksana Brui and the Chairman of the National Commission on State Language Standards Orysia Demska.

In accordance with the memorandum, the parties agreed to jointly promote:

• increasing the prestige of libraries through the promotion of the Ukrainian language;
• dissemination of knowledge about the Ukrainian language and its role in the development of Ukrainian and European cultures;
• creating a network of posts where exams will be held to determine the level of proficiency in the state language and determining the schedules of their work.

New edition of «MARC 21 format for the bibliographic data»

The Library experts prepared new edition of the publication «MARC 21 format for the bibliographic data : methodological recommendations (short version)».

The edition is downloaded to the KPI electronic archive. You are welcome to scroll and use via the link.

Methodical recommendations are made taking into consideration the international standard of cataloging in the RDA digital environment. They will be useful for all librarians of Ukraine.

Installation «Infinitely free»

In the summer, Ukraine celebrates two state anniversaries – 25 years of the Constitution – and 30 years of Independence, which is yet in August. Before the holidays, the Library specialists created the installation «Infinitely Free».

Nadiia Bielikova became the author of the concept and implementation of the creative idea. The outlines of the country were drawn by Lilia Russu. Tetiana Tatarinova helped to realize the idea.
