Issues of information hygiene during the war are becoming increasingly important, because the information consumed depends on our lives and our loved ones.

At the meeting we will learn:

- How the enemy works in the infospace: the 7 rules of Russian propaganda?
- What is an information pyramid and «temniks»? How not to help the enemy?
Speaker: Oksana Moroz is the founder of the initiative on information hygiene «How not to become a vegetable», author and host of the radio blog «I do not believe», author of the books «Nation of Vegetables», «Fight for Truth». Life of Lviv through the eyes of an environmental activist: a lecture by Diana Popfalushi
Do you remember our meeting with Diana Popfalushi, an environmental activist and host of the «Пояснизаеко» podcast?
Now we have invited her to tell how Lviv lived when thousands of Ukrainians went abroad at the beginning of the war. We will talk at the meeting about extraordinary volunteers at the station and around the city, about unexpected partnerships, about new movements and even about the gardens of victory.

General issues of the Internet of Things and the economics of outcome
If you are interested in new trends in information technology and you want to delve into the implementation of the Internet of Things and the specifics of regulation by law.
Then we invite you to an event dedicated to Internet of Things technologies as a part of the international educational project «European integration: legislation and the Internet of Things» in the direction of Jean Monnet «Module» of the Erasmus + program.
The main issues of the training:
social and digital transformations;
Internet of Things (IoT) – fiction or reality ?;
the Internet of Things society;
development of the Internet of Things as a component of the digital single market of the European Union;
social benefits of using Internet of Things technologies (smart homes, smart cities, autonomous cars).
Speaker: Olga Golovko, Ph.D., senior lecturer at the Department of Public Law, KPI, Module Leader of the EULIOT project.

Stories about the life of old books
The topic of this meeting will be «The first scientific and technical groups of KPI: the history of their origin and their work.»
Scientific and technical groups, where science had its further development, played a significant role in the training of highly qualified KPI specialists. Here technical thinking was formed and the acquired knowledge was embodied. Research was supported by books from specialized libraries. Confirmation of the existence of libraries in scientific and technical groups can be examined from the seals on the publications in the fund of the Department of Rare and Valuable Documents of the KPI Library.
Who was the initiator of the creation of groups that studied, which books were read, the excursion program, well-known scientists-group members – we will talk about this in the lecture.
Familiar Stranger – Web of Science Core Collection
KPI Library invites scientists of Kyiv Polytechnic and all interested scientists to visit the webinar «Familiar Stranger – Web of Science Core Collection», which will take place on May 26 at 16:00 on the Zoom platform.
Together with Clarivate Analytics training and analytical resources expert Irina Tikhonkova, we will consider the following issues:
• capabilities and properties of the Web of Science Core Collection for scientific work;
• new functionality that appeared with the platform updates;
• algorithm for searching literature on your research topic;
• search and selection of a journal for publication of research results;
• search for partners for common implementation of projects;
• grant opportunities;
• saving the received data on the platform;
• difficulties faced by the authors in presenting their own research and ways to avoid it.

KPI community during the years of challenges
We invite you to a lecture by Mykhailo Kalnytsky, a graduate of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kyiv expert, historian, writer, and journalist.
The lecture is dedicated to difficult periods in the history of the KPI during the world wars and postwar reconstructions. We will learn:
- what happened at the institute during hostilities, evacuations, occupations;
- what contribution teachers and students have made to protect their city from enemies;
- how they overcame heavy losses, rebuilt war-torn lives, and helped restore education and work.
We meet on May 5 at 18:00 on the Zoom platform. It will be extremely interesting!

Powerful weapon of Kharkiv production – Vivat publishing house
In these turbulent times, every Ukranian has chosen a weapon in the fight against the enemy for our victory in russia’s war against Ukraine.
The weapon of Vivat publishing house is the support of the Ukrainian reader, wherever he is now.
During the meeting with Nadia Kuzynska, a representative of the publishing house, we will find out:
- how the publishing house works in conditions of war;
- how the publishing house interacts with higher education institutions;
- about free access to e-books;
- which of the foreign authors whose books were published in Vivat in Ukrainian supported Ukraine;
- which of the well-known Ukrainian publicists, whose books were published by the publishing house, defend our country in the ranks of the Armed Forces or the Territorial defense;
- about future plans.

Outstanding scientist, chemist Wojciech Alojzy Świętosławski
We invite you to the next lecture of historical studies Think about it.
We remind you that the series of lectures 2021-2022 is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Section of KPI Students in Poland (1922-2022). The topic of the December meeting is ‘Outstanding scientist-chemist, graduate of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (1906) Wojciech Alojzy Świętosławski’.
Świętosławski became one of the founders of the KPI Students’ Section at the Main Technical Society in Poland, an organization that brought together many former students of Kyiv Polytechnic. He also played a significant role in the scientific and social life of the Republic of Poland. We will learn about the events of his life and scientific activity during the lecture.
The invited speaker is the head of the department of history of Ihor Sikorsky KPI V. Tatarchuk State Polytechnic Museum and researcher of the Department of History L. Bakaeva.
Lecture will be held on the 9th of December 2021 on the Zoom platform. Start at 19:00.
